Hi. We're Goburo, the globe-trotting Web studio. We help entrepreneurs and small businesses to do amazing things online.

Who we are

Goburo (pronounced go-bureau) is Nick Cernis and Hayley Thomas. We help people like you to publish online and earn an independent living.

We combine our fun sense of design with platforms like WordPress and ExpressionEngine to create great-looking sites that owners can edit and manage themselves.

We’re location independent, which means that we take our business around the world and work from wherever we happen to be. (If we had to call somewhere home, though, it would be West Yorkshire in the UK.) Our clients keep in touch via email, Skype, and instant messaging, though we’re happy to meet in person too.

What we do

If you’ve got an idea that you want to put online, we can help. We’ve assisted bloggers, small business owners, and large corporations in creating and updating sites that build traffic and generate buzz.

We offer web design, development, and copywriting at realistic prices to tight deadlines. We can also help with logo and identity work, as well as printed stationery, brochures, ebook design, and email campaigns.

A little bit about us

Nick Cernis is a writer and developer with an insatiable hunger for chocolate biscuits. Outside of Goburo, he writes at Modern Nerd and builds iPhone apps at Spiffing Apps.

How we work

To keep things on track, we work in these stages:

1. Brief and ideas

You get in touch with your ideas and must-haves. We can recommend domain registrars and hosting providers if you don't already have them.

2. Quotation

We provide a quotation, a list of deliverables, and an approximate timescale.

3. Deposit

If you're happy with our proposal, we ask for a 50% deposit up front, payable via PayPal or bank transfer, with the balance on completion.

4. Design

We'll send you a mockup of our design ideas via email, usually within a week of receiving your deposit. You'll get the chance to request up to two rounds of design revisions.

5. Development

Once you've approved the design by email, we'll start coding it ready to upload to the Web. Most of our clients use this time to write their site's copy.
